Green breaks silence: UNL not 'racist', CRT 'not imposed'

One of the top leaders at the University of Nebraska has broken his silence following a stinging attack from Gov. Pete Ricketts, as Ricketts plays another card in an ongoing battle over race.
UNL Chancellor Ronnie Green issuing a statement that the Lincoln campus is not “racist” and “nothing could be further from the truth.”
Green is also insisting that critical race theory is not imposed at UNL and won’t be.
At the same time Ricketts is urging Nebraskans to contact the Board of Regents and fire back at what Ricketts continues to argue is NU’s plan to “apply CRT on UNL’s campus.”
All this following Ricketts comments last week that he has "lost all faith" in Green, accusing Green of pushing critical race theory and calling for racial hiring plans that are rooted in Communism.
Green’s statement never mentions Ricketts by name but says UNL is not out to fill any “quotas.” According to Green, his plan is aimed at “getting diverse candidates for a job and then hiring the most qualified person.”
The Regents meet Friday at 9 a.m.
