OMAHA, Neb. -- Saturday afternoon officers were called to a three vehicle accident in Omaha.

Authorities were called to the intersection of I-80 and 60th St. westbound for a personal injury crash, where they found a white Hyundai Elantra stopped on the north shoulder of I-80 westbound.

They also found that a black Nissan Maxima was west bound on I-80 and struck the rear of the Hyundai, causing it to overturn.

Authorities say the Nissan then veered across the westbound lanes and struck a black Jeep Cherokee. The Nissan and the Jeep came to rest on the south shoulder.

The Nissan was driven by a 21-year-old male who has felony charges pending, and his passenger was a 16-year-old female who is stable but in critical condition.

The Hyundai was driven by 76-year-old Timothy Flaherty, of Lincoln, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Jeep was driven by a 26-year-old male who was uninjured, and his passenger was a 25-year-old female who has a non-critical injury.
