The Omaha School board is scheduled to review the district’s mandatory mask policy tonight.

If the board gives its OK, as of Friday masks would be optional.

Tonight’s vote comes just days after the County Health Director lifted the city of Omaha’s mask mandate.

One month ago OPS reported 450 cases in one week.

Last week that number dropped to 39.

At the same time OPS continues to encourage all eligible people to get vaccinated and notes that students and teachers who feel sick must stay home.
