Bryce McGowens declaring for NBA draft

LINCOLN, Neb. -- One of the top freshmen basketball players in the country announced Monday that he is leaving Nebraska after one season and declaring for the NBA draft.
Bryce McGowens announced in a tweet that he would be declaring for the draft while thanking his teammates, Nebraska fans and the Huskers' coaching staff.
"It was the greatest honor of my career thus far to play for the University of Nebraska and suit up as a Cornhusker this past season," McGowens said. "I'm grateful I got to play alongside my brother Trey, and it's something I will always cherish."
A former five-star prospect, McGowens was voted Third-Team All-Conference and was named to the Big Ten's All-Rookie Team after averaging 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Huskers.
According to ESPN, McGowens will be hiring an agent.
