Herbster ad: “Just like the establishment attacked President Trump, now they’re attacking me.”

Over the weekend, GOP governor hopeful Charles Herbster, endorsed by Trump and just accused of sexually assaulting eight women, issued this video adding to his claim that the allegations are a political-hit orchestrated by Gov. Pete Ricketts, who backs NU Regent Jim Pillen and has said Herbster would be a “horrible” governor.

Herbster ad: “The political establishment: They’re scared of losing power and that’s the truth.”

Lindstrom ad: "Brett Lindstrom has the energy."

In the meantime, reports of a new poll taken before the accusations surfaced—a poll from State Sen. Brett Lindstrom—the third key candidate—finds Lindstrom and Pillen tied at the top with 27 percent of the vote, Herbster 23 percent, Theresa Thibodeau six percent and 12 percent undecided.

Again, the poll (first reported by Nebraska Examiner) is a Lindstrom survey and was done before the accusations surfaced, the key accusation and the only named accuser, is State Sen. Julie Slama.

Slama (KFAB Radio): “As I was going in walking to my table I felt a hand reach up my skirt, up my dress, and the hand was Charles Herbster’s.”

Herbster (KFAB Radio): “I absolutely, 100 percent, deny all of these accusations.”

Accusations that were reported one day after Donald Trump, Jr. was in western Nebraska campaigning for Herbster, no word yet if the former President is coming.
