Obviously popular swings took a bit of a beating, we’re told they were “misused” no vandalism when 50,000 folks set foot in the park over the July 4th weekend.
That forced the temporary removal of the swings so adjustments could be made, they are now back up and running.
Water cascades, cooling off the kids, were briefly shut down so the chemicals that keep them clean could be balanced correctly.
Then there were some Omaha Scanner reports, unconfirmed but not disputed.
One report noting that on opening day July 1st a “Caller says a 33 y/o female jumped off of the brand new playground equipment and broke her ankle.”
July 6th, “Separate call for two people refusing to leave the family bathroom by the playground.”
Growing pains that officials find normal.
