An Omaha Super Target where police shot and killed a suspected active shooter is open for business.

The store reopened its doors at 178th and West Center Road at 10 this morning, 46 hours after dozens of customers and employees, none of whom were hurt, literally ran for their lives.

Today’s customers expressing few if any safety concerns. 

Robert Martinez: Police did a good job. I feel like Target, it sounds like, they train their employees pretty well. I feel safe when out and about.

Police have identified the shooter as 32-year-old Joseph Jones of suburban Omaha.

The Omaha Police Department also releasing a series of photos showing Jones inside and outside the store, armed with an AR-15, a military assault style rifle he bought four days earlier.

Police also released a photo of Officer Brian Vanderheiden, a 20-year OPD veteran, who shot and killed Jones.

According to reports, Jones’ family believes Jones suffered from mental health problems.
