Trump's day in court garners expected NE right-left reaction

On the heels of former President Donald Trump’s arrest, arraignment, not guilty plea and late night speech where he called the case against him fake and an attempt to affect the 2024 race for the White House, the head of the Nebraska Democratic Party is picking up where she left off a few days ago.
Jane Kleeb insisting Trump’s day in criminal court—the first former President ever indicted—was a historic moment where “every American who supports our democracy should be holding Trump accountable for his lies and corruption.”
On the other side of the aisle backing statements made by Nebraska’s GOP Congressmen and Senators is Chris Chappelear, a member of the Nebraska Republican Party’s Central Committee.
According to Chappelear, Trump’s case is “political persecution” that is eroding “trust in the legal system.”
