Metro fireworks: When and where

Fireworks in the Metro are off and running but depending on where you live you need a scorecard to keep track of when they can be set off.

In some parts of the Omaha area, folks are already shooting off fireworks legally.

For others its still, hold your fire.

Here’s the rundown:

Bellevue and Papillion allow fireworks through July 3^rd from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. On July 4^th its 8 a.m. until midnight.

Gretna: Thru July 3^rd from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. July 4^th from 10 in the morning until midnight.

Ralston: Thru July 3^rd from 9 a.m. until 10.30 at night. July 4^th from 9 a.m. until midnight.

La Vista: Thru July 2^nd its 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. July 3^rd and the 4^th its 11 a.m. to 11p.m.

But step inside the Omaha city limits and the firing times are more limited.

Fireworks can only be set off July 2, 3 and the 4^th between the hours of noon and 11pm.

And Omaha police tell us they have officers assigned to fireworks complaints and they are already on the lookout for violators.
