Bennington man sentenced for child pornography conviction

BENNINGTON, Neb. -- A Bennington man was sentenced to prison after his child pornography conviction.
Acting U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr said 37-year-old Chad Moseman, of Bennington, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha on Wednesday. He was convicted for distribution and receipt of child pornography. Moseman will serve 100 months in prison with a five-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal prison system. .
According to court documents, while conducting an undercover peer-to-peer child pornography investigation, an FBI task force officer in Omaha saw an IP address advertising child pornography to share in July 2021. The officer confirmed the files advertised child pornography.
Officials said the IP address went back to Moseman’s home in Bennington. The FBI used a search warrant at Moseman’s home and took his electronic devices. A forensic examination showed peer-to-peer software had been used on Moseman’s computer.
Authorities said Moseman’s computer had images of child pornography in thumbnail cache as well as other digital artifacts of child pornography had been accessed and deleted on the computer. Digital evidence, including text messages, further showed Moseman was at home at the time of the online activity.
This case was investigated by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
