St. Francis receives national level three trauma verification

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - A central Nebraska hospital is once again receiving a national verification that will continue effective and timely trauma care for rural residents.
CHI Health St. Francis officials announced Wednesday that it had received level three trauma center verification from the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
The verification is effective until January 9, 2028.
Trauma Coordinator at St. Francis Mindy Walters said “This accomplishment underscores our dedication to providing the highest quality trauma care to our patients and the surrounding community. It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our entire medical team.”
The verification also includes collaboration with local emergency medical personnel and outside facilities to reduce transport times, improve patient outcomes and survival rates.
“St. Francis is committed to continually improving our trauma services and maintaining the highest standards of care,” said Walters.
