Central Nebraska Regional Airport breaks January record, adds Mesa Gateway flights

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - The Central Nebraska Regional Airport is setting all-time records for the numbers of passengers boarding aircraft in its facility during the month of January.
The Central Nebraska Regional Airport reported a total of 6,395 enplanements for January, which makes it the busiest January on record. The previous record occurred in January 2016 with 5,665.
One reason for this uptick is Allegiant Air adding a third flight each week from Grand Island to Mesa Gateway in December 2024, and increasing again to four flights beginning this week.
Hall County Airport Authority Executive Director Mike Olson said, “The Central Nebraska Regional Airport Authority is excited to realize such a big increase in passenger boardings in January. With our partner, Allegiant Air, adding additional frequencies to Mesa Gateway Airport, I believe our passenger boardings will continue to rise throughout 2025.”
Allegiant also flies twice weekly out of Grand Island to Las Vegas, with American Airlines flying twice daily to Dallas/Ft. Worth.
