Britt Prince: Hometown hero court side and in the community
NORFOLK, NEB. -- Nebraska Women’s Basketball player Britt Prince is making waves both on and off the court, thanks to a unique partnership with Midwest Bank in Norfolk. The 2024 NIL deal brought the standout Husker athlete to northeast Nebraska, offering fans a special opportunity to connect, snap photos, grab autographs, and hear about her vision both on and off the court.
Midwest Bank initially partnered with Prince and collaborated with her throughout the season to host a meet and greet, as part of her contract. The event allowed fans to take pictures, receive autographs, and hear from Prince about her experiences and goals.
"We have been thrilled with the turnout and just the ability to bring a standout Husker athlete to northeast Nebraska," a representative from Midwest Bank said. "We know not everyone gets to go down to Lincoln and see a game, and this way you bring a Nebraska athlete to northeast Nebraska so that her favorite fans can show the support while she is here."
Prince, who is familiar with the community due to having friends and family in the area, expressed her hopes for how fans perceive her.
"If they watch me, I hope they know that I'm a hard worker and I'm humble and care a lot about winning," Prince said. "Like, that's my most important thing. I hate to lose. I also hope I’m a good role model to younger girls and they look up to me and that I am trying to be a good person to them."
Prince, a five-star recruit, headlined Nebraska's 2024-25 freshman class after earning back-to-back Nebraska High School Player-of-the-Year honors from both Gatorade and MaxPreps in 2023 and 2024. Known for her outstanding defense, Prince is the only Husker to achieve 100 rebounds and 100 assists in her freshman year of college.
