KIMBALL -- The Lady Longhorn wrestlers had a big weekend on the mats with tournaments in Hemingford and Chadron.    

The girls competed in the Hemingford Invite and WTC on Friday. 

Barbera Early took home first place in the 100-pound weight class at both tournaments. Jade ORourke took home third place in the 145-pound weight class at both tournaments. McKenzie Howard took home first place in the 235-pound weight class at both tournaments. 

Emaline Tabor wrestled in the 130-pound weight class, taking home third place in the Hemingford Invite and second in WTC. 

Becca Koski wrestled in the 155-pound weight class, placing fourth in the Hemingford Invite and third in WTC. 

Elaina Sweigard placed third in WTC in the 170-pound weight class. Noley Brower placed fourth in the Hemingford Invite and third in WTC, wrestling in the 190-pound weight class. 

At the tournament in Chadron, Brower and Howard placed third in their respective weight classes, and Early took home sixth place. 

“The girls have been putting in a lot of work to finish out the season,” Coach Katie Culek said. “We are working on mental and physical preparation for the District Tournament. I am excited for the girls to showcasetheir extraordinary year at districts.” 

The team has a tournament Friday, January 30 @ Mitchell.
