The C2-10 girls subdistricts kicked-off Monday night with #3 Kimball hosting while #1 Valentine and #2 Perkins County rested for tomorrows semifinals. After #4 Mitchell got a close win over #5 Gordon-Rushville to advance to the semi-final against Valentine, it was the lady longhorns chance at a win and your in first round battle against Hemingford.

Kimball beat Hemingford in Hemingford on Friday night before losing to Lingle-Ft. Laramie at home on Saturday. They came into Monday with one day of rest, but it wouldn't matter. The lady longhorns took an early lead of 4-0 before letting the lady cats tie it up at four. Then Kimball went on a sixteen point run to lead the game 20-4 before letting Hemingford back on the board.

The clock ran once late in the third quarter after the longhorns met the forty point lead threshold, but the cats battled back in and kept the lead in the thirties for most of the fourth quarter before the longhorns ran away with it. Kimball dominated the game and gave the rest of the subdistrict something to worry about with a win, 62-19.

Tuesday, Kimball plays Perkins County in Valentine. The winner of that game plays the winner of the Valentine vs. Mitchell game on Thursday for the subdistrict title. Tuesday's lady longhorn game will air at 6:30pm mountain time and be carried live on 104.3 KIMB, 1043kimb.com and the FREE News Channel Nebraska app!
