Several firefighters and law enforcement agencies are responding to multiple wildfires in southwest Lancaster County Thursday afternoon.(PulsePoint | PulsePoint)

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Evacuations were ordered Thursday for some residents in southwest Lancaster County after multiple grass fires popped up in the area.

At least three fires had been reported as of 1:50 p.m., according to PulsePoint.

Firefighters are battling two grass fires just northwest and southwest of Denton and a third fire east of Crete.

Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office are evacuating residents in the area of Southwest 112th Street and West Pioneers Boulevard in rural Denton.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and follow instructions from firefighters and law enforcement if you are asked to evacuate.
