President Trump expected in Omaha this evening, but not Sasse

President Donald Trump will be in Omaha Tuesday night, just one week before the election. Both Omaha and neighboring Iowa could be key to the presidential race. Iowa is often a swing state, while Nebraska, which gives an electoral vote to each of its congressional districts, could see its second district in play.
Nebraska’s second congressional district has voted narrowly Republican in each of this century’s presidential elections, with the exception coming in 2008 when it cast a ballot for Barack Obama, who would go on to win the presidency. Iowa has been split in each of the past four elections, voting twice for Republicans and twice for Democrats.
Trump will speak at Eppley Airfield in frigid temperatures this evening. He also spoke at Eppley before Nebraskans went to the polls in the 2016 primary.
One notable absence at the rally will be Senator Ben Sasse. Officials have said Sasse, who got into a contentious back-and-forth with President Trump earlier this month, will not be in attendance. Sasse, who is also up for re-election this year, is considered safe in his Senatorial race.
