Metro hospitals: 'Feeling the Crunch'
The surge in cases, 357 in less than two days, coupled with just 25 available ICU beds finds Metro hospitals, in a bed squeeze.

With fewer and fewer open hospital beds and hundreds of new COVID-19 cases pouring in, Douglas County Health officials are asking the public for help by getting vaccinated.
The surge in cases, 357 in less than two days, coupled with just 25 available ICU beds finds Metro hospitals, in the words of the county, “Feeling the Crunch.”
Here’s some more numbers:
In the past 24 hours Douglas County reported six new deaths, only one of the six was vaccinated.
Forty-eight COVID patients are on ventilators.
Attempting to convince those in Omaha’s black community who have been hesitant to get the shot, former State Senator Ernie Chambers received his booster shot on Thursday and urged others to get vaccinated as well.
