LINCOLN, Neb. -- Authorities said a woman is facing charges after a fake 911 call to hinder a DUI investigation.

Lincoln Police said officers pulled over a car the morning of Christmas Eve for violating a traffic law.

Police said they suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Several minutes later, authorities got a 911 call about a man a black SUV with a handgun, then quickly hung up.

Police were able to trace the call to the same area as the traffic stop.

Officers then confirmed the number used in the 911 call belonged to a passenger in the pulled over car.

Thirty-three-year-old Rebecca O'Neal was arrested for false reporting and obstructing government operations.
