OMAHA, Neb. -- A former athlete from the University of Nebraska-Omaha will be representing Sweden at the upcoming Winter Olympics.
 
Fredrik Olofsson was named to the Swedish National Hockey Team earlier this week, marking his first time representing his country at the Olympics.
 
Before attending UNO, Olofsson spent three years in the USHL split between the Green Bay Gamblers and the Chicago Steel.
 
Olofsson attended UNO from 2015-2019 where he was a member of the Mavericks for four seasons. 
 
He notched 35 goals and 60 assists in 137 games and was also named an assistant captain his senior year.
 
Olofsson appeared in two games for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL after he graduated.
 
For the last three seasons, he has been playing professional hockey in Sweden.
 
Olofsson was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
