The United States Attorney Jan Sharp announced that 28-year-old Achocho Enita, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced Friday for travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Enita to 97 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release.  There is no parole in the federal system. It is anticipated that he will be removed to Micronesia following the completion of his prison sentence.

On July 13, 2021, Enita responded to an online ad posted by a law enforcement officer who posed as a 15-year-old female offering commercial sex.  Through text message exchanges over the next ten days, Enita arranged to meet the person he thought was a minor female and pay to have sex with her.  Enita was arrested after he had traveled from Council Bluffs to Omaha, Nebraska, for the meeting.

This case was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, as part of the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force (CEHTTF).

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
