A highly decorated Omaha-area Marine will have his name emblazoned on a Sarpy County Street.
23-year-old Cpl. Daegan Page, who was laid to rest in September, was one of 13 members of the military killed in action during the U-S pullout from Afghanistan.
Page and his fellow soldiers were helping civilians leave the Kabul Airport when a suicide bomber attacked.
President Biden posthumously bestowed the Congressional Gold Medal to Page last year.
Later this spring a portion of a neighborhood street near the Douglas-Sarpy County line will be named in Page's honor.
Page joined the Marines in 2017.
During his time in uniform, he was deployed several times, serving in Japan, South Korea, Australia, Jordan and finally Afghanistan.
