TAMPA BAY, Fl. -- A former member of the Omaha Lancers has signed his first NHL contract.

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced the signing of Nicklaus Perbix today.

Perbix was a member of the Lancers during the 2017-2018 hockey season where he registered four goals and 25 assists in 56 games.

He played the last four years at St. Cloud State University and represented the U.S.A. at this year's Winter Olympics appearing in four games and notching an assist.

Perbix was drafted by the Lightning in the 6th round of the 2017 NHL draft.

He will spend the rest of the hockey season with the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL.
