Ninety-one people involved in illegal street racing in Omaha can expect a knock on the door from police in the very near future, according to a statement released by OPD.

Police tell us reckless, dangerous high-speed racing has increased nationwide and in Omaha since the beginning of the pandemic.

While no names are being released yet, OPD says they’ve identified 18 speeders, 13 others who joined in on the reckless driving and another 60 who staked out spots in closed parking lots to watch.

According to police, those 91 will be contacted and issued citations over the next several weeks.

OPD say it will continue its crackdown throughout the summer.
