Peru man released from hospital after being wounded by gunfire

LINCOLN - The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a shooting incident in Peru on Saturday evening.
Investigators say the shooting occurred during an altercation between neighbors in the 1200 block of Sixth Street near the Peru State College campus.
The state patrol’s preliminary investigation shows that during the altercation, Guadalupe De La Cruz, 58, fired a weapon, striking Mark Dupre, 25.
Dupre was transported to Bryan Health Center West Campus in Lincoln for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.
No arrests have been made at this point, but the investigation is continuing.
