The battle over abortion brought out one of the testier moments during today’s first debate in the Omaha race for Congress.

Republican Congressman Don Bacon, insisting as he did during a recent interview with News Channel Nebraska, that while he supports a 12–15-week limit on abortions, his Democrat opponent is an extremist, backing abortions until the moment of birth.

State Sen. Tony Vargas argues it’s Bacon who is out of step with the majority of Nebraskans.

Their dispute highlighted by one key moment (view it above).

The two also disagreed on a variety of other issues such as immigration.

While Bacon blasted the Biden Administration for an open door policy at the border causing havoc around the country, Vargas called for earned pathways to citizenship and said Bacon has done little in his six years in office to solve the problem.
