LINCOLN, Neb. -- A former Husker is headed back to the NFL to terrorize quarterbacks.

Nebraska football legend Ndamukong Suh has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team tweeted on Thursday.

Suh's decision to join the Eagles comes after a lengthy waiting period in which the veteran remained patient before picking his next employer. The five-time All-Pro stated previously that he wanted to play this season.

His wait paid off with an opportunity to join the one-loss Eagles, joining the team after Philadelphia lost rookie Jordan Davis to injury.

He is reportedly joining the team on a one-year deal.

Suh was an All-American at Nebraska, racking up 215 total tackles, 49.5 tackles for loss and 24 sacks in his career with the Huskers. He won the Outland Trophy, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Bednarik Award and the Lombardi Award in his senior season, while also finishing fourth in the Heisman Trophy race.

He was drafted second overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played five seasons in Detroit, followed by three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, one with the Los Angeles Rams, and the past three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Suh has played in Super Bowls for the Rams and Bucs, winning a title with Tampa Bay in the 2020 season.
