She’s Kathy Bossman who has been an assistant chief the last six years.
Mayor Jean Stothert, the city's first woman mayor, announced the appointment today.

Bossman, who started with the department 26 years ago, will take over for Chief Dan Olsen who is retiring, after 30 years with OFD. Her annual salary is $184,205.
During his time Olsen opened the city’s first new fire station in 22 years, replacing a decades-old site in South Omaha. He also started plans for another new station on the northwest side of town.
