Unlicensed cars and trucks in Omaha are being targeted by police for the rest of the month.

Omaha police have announced a crackdown on unregistered vehicles that finds officers from all five precincts looking for violators.

State law and a city ordinance will be used to ticket those who have been avoiding the county treasurer’s office and paying the required motor vehicle taxes.

In addition, vehicles with expired plates or invalid in-transit stickers from the dealer are subject to being towed immediately.
