Voters in Omaha’s Westside school district have overwhelmingly approved a $121 million bond issue.
With 7,338 voters casting ballots 63 percent voted for the proposal, 37 percent against.
The money will go to build three new elementary schools replacing three others, along with repairs to Westside High School, Middle School and one other elementary school.
In 2015 Westside voters easily okayed an $80 million bond issue, that money going to safety and security throughout the midtown Omaha district.
Today’s yes vote will raise property taxes $147 a year on a $300,000 home.
