This Memorial Day weekend, Americans remember the hundreds of thousands of men and women who gave their lives for this country.

Many will take time to pay their respects at any number of memorials and cemeteries, including the Omaha National Cemetery, a military site in Papillion.

Among those buried there, one of the 13 Americans who died during those final hours of the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
