Beatrice Firefighters answer two Memorial Day fire calls

BEATRICE – Beatrice firefighters were sent to a fire in the Gage County Industrial Park, on Memorial Day, according to Southeast Communications Dispatch Center traffic.
Firefighters extinguished a fire in several wooden pallets, outside Eco Energy in the seven-hundred block of Kinney Drive.
Department personnel were sent there at 5:23 p.m. and had the flames extinguished, in about fifteen minutes. Firefighters turned the scene over to a company safety manager and left the area shortly after six p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon, fire personnel were sent to a small fire in a mulch pile, next to the Church of Latter Day Saints, along North 26th Street. That fire was also put out in about fifteen minutes…and building maintenance was summoned to check the inside of the church. That call came in, at 1:43 p.m.
