Here’s the latest:
His wife Aubrey says the councilman has violated an earlier court order requiring him to pay the minimum monthly balance on their Nebraska Furniture Mart credit card, utilities at their south Omaha home, and their home equity line of credit.
Palermo, who has stayed mum on the federal charges, is in effect counter-suing his wife arguing she went on Facebook Marketplace selling off some joint property including a piano and giving away some of Palermo’s personal property.
He says his wife has also refused to return some $8,000 to his company, Vinny’s Tree Service, as previously ordered by the court.
While both sides insist the other is in contempt of court, Palermo, a Democrat, is rapidly running out of time on the council.
Sitting in jail, unable to attend the council’s weekly meetings as required, come the end of next month he’ll automatically lose his seat.
