Three injured, one dead following Tuesday afternoon accident in Omaha
OMAHA, Neb. -- One person dead and three seriously injured following an accident that happened Tuesday afternoon in Omaha.
The Omaha Police Department said they are investigating a fatal crash that happened on 112th and West Maple Road.
Police said they responded to the scene around 2:45 p.m. Authorities said they found a Ford Fusion, driven by 38-year-old Kasia Richardson of Omaha, was heading east, trying to make a left turn onto northbound Emmett Street.
OPD said the Fusion was hit by a Chevy Suburban that was heading west. Both of the vehicles reportedly came to a rest on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Richardson, wasn't wearing a seatbelt according to authorities, and she was taken to a local hospital with life-saving measures in progress by Omaha Fire Department medics.
Authorities said that Richardson died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the Suburban, a 17-year-old from Blair, and the two passengers were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
