OMAHA, Neb. -- The name of the man that was killed Saturday morning in Omaha has been announced, along with more details about the incident.

Captain Jeremy Christensen said the victim is 52-year-old Steven Greg Donsbach. There was no one else reportedly in the home at the time of the shooting.

Omaha police need the public’s help tracking down a man accused in a Saturday morning domestic violence incident along with being a person of interest in a homicide investigation.

The assault was reportedly called in around 5:40 a.m. at a SW Omaha home and led to a check of wellbeing call at a home on Essex Dr. 

Officers said the home was reportedly broken into. When went into the home, they reportedly found Donsbach and saw that he had been shot. 

Christensen said the suspect is 42-year-old Matthew Briggs. He is believed to be armed and driving a 2005 red Century Buick.

He’s described as white, 5’11, 260 pounds, with brown eyes, brown and white hair, and a goatee beard.

Police advise people to stay clear of Briggs and call 9-1-1 immediately.
