$3.00 a gallon gas?

Well, not quite. But in and around Omaha it’s getting close.

No, you’re not seeing things over the last few days Omaha gas prices have been going down.

There’s 3.19 a gallon in South Omaha. $3.29 in Elkhorn, and get this $3.07 a gallon in West Omaha, 132nd and West Center Road to be exact.

As for the average price in town…a little higher a little lower.

Right now regular is selling for $3.25 a gallon.

And that’s down from last week’s $3.37.

Much lower than last month’s $3.76 a gallon.

Where are prices headed?

Well one expert tells us that while there is “no immediate threat” to Middle East oil production it’s expected that the U.S. will tighten sanctions on Iran’s oil industry, likely pushing prices up.

If case you’re wondering, and who isn’t, will this $3.07 a gallon price will be replaced with that almost mythical $2.99 a gallon mark?
