Omaha man sentenced for child pornography conviction

OMAHA, Neb. -- Over nine years in prison was given to an Omaha man following his child pornography conviction.
Acting U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr said 29-year-old Jose Anzora Martir, of Omaha, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha on Friday. He was convicted for distribution of child pornography. Martir will serve 114 months in prison with a five-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system. As part of his sentence, Martir has to pay $ 1,100 in special assessments.
Officials said Martir knowingly and intentionally sent images of child porn to another person over the internet on Feb. 22, 2021. Agents used a federal search warrant at Martir’s home around April 27, 2021.
According to authorities, they found and later searched Martir’s cell phone. There was at least 900 files of child porn saved on his cell phone.
This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol.
