Sidney celebrates Christmas with Holidays on Hickory
SIDNEY -- The temperatures were cold, but the spirits were warm with the coming Christmas holiday Saturday, December 2.
The annual Christmas parade again took place on Jackson Street, beginning on 14th Avenue and proceeding east to the excitement of children and parents alike.
This year the night started with free chili by the City of Sidney and hot cocoa provided by Sidney Regional Medical Center. Following the warm bowl of chili, the community was encouraged to make their way to Jackson Street for the 6 p.m. parade.
Afterward, people hurried back north to get in line to see Santa Claus, or take part in the s'mores at Pedalers Corner.
At 7 p.m., Justin Todd Herod was on stage at the Fox Theater providing a free Christmas concert.
The All Is Bright Christmas Tour also welcomed guests Saturday. The next tours will be December 8-9 and 15-16.
