Three-vehicle crash at Scottsbluff intersection sends one person to hospital
SCOTTSBLUFF — One person was transported to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and East 20th Street, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.
Authorities say a 2007 Toyota RAV4, driven by Brian Livingston, 49, of Scottsbluff, was stopped at the intersection’s northbound stop sign before turning west onto Highway 26. Livingston’s vehicle entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound 2011 Ford Expedition driven by Ana Montanez, 45, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The collision caused the Expedition to veer south, strike a stop sign, and then hit a 2011 Cadillac that had been stopped behind the RAV4. The Cadillac was driven by Leonard Wyatt, 43, of Torrington, Wyoming.
One occupant was taken to Regional West Medical Center with a minor neck injury. All three vehicles were towed from the scene. Damage estimates were $7,000 to the Expedition, $5,000 to the RAV4, and $5,000 to the Cadillac.
Livingston was cited for failure to yield. The intersection was closed for about 45 minutes while crews cleared the scene. Scottsbluff Fire Department and Regional West Medical Center Ambulance Services assisted.
