RAPID CITY, S.D. - A 50-year-old Allen, South Dakota woman has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for her role in a large-scale methamphetamine distribution ring operating on the Pine Ridge Reservation and in Rapid City. Misty Hornbeck was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance.

Hornbeck was living in Colorado during the time of the conspiracy and used her connections there to obtain methamphetamine. She then supplied the drug to co-defendants, who allegedly transported it into South Dakota for distribution.

Once in South Dakota, prosecutors say the meth was further distributed by multiple people, including co-defendants Nathan Tobacco-Clifford, Milo Shot With Arrow, and others. Authorities say the conspiracy involved between 500 grams and 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Badlands Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force, a multi-agency effort that includes agents from the FBI, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Drug Enforcement, Martin Police Department, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.
