Elmwood-Murdock Beats Freeman for a Third Time this Season

MURDOCK, NE - The Elmwood-Murdock Knights improved to 3-0 this season against Freeman, riding the hot hands of Brooklyn Mans to a 62-34 win, as heard on B103. The victory secured a spot in the District Finals for the Knights, but the Falcons will also continue on in the postseason thanks to a wildcard bid.

Elmwood-Murdock built a 16-10 lead after the first quarter, but they really kicked things into gear with a 23-5 second frame that had them on top 39-15 at the break. Freeman cut that deficit down to 18 in the third quarter, but a 16-5 fourth frame gave the Knights an impressive 32-point victory.

Brooklyn Mans hit her first six 3-point attempts for the host squad, only missing on her seventh attempt from deep and finishing with 24 points. Brooke Goudie & Jalyn Fleischman also found double-digit points with ten apiece. Freeman was led by the eight points apiece of Savannah Mahler & Shiloh Wallman.

Elmwood-Murdock is now 21-3 on the season, and they'll be the eight-seed in the Class C2 District Finals. Freeman fell to 17-7 on the campaign, and they end up as the 14-seed. The Falcons will visit 3-seed Oakland-Craig, while Elmwood-Murdock will bring in Crofton on Friday, February 27, with trips to the State Tournament on the line.
