Nebraska could see a mix of weather over the next couple of days as a storm system moves through the state.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening and overnight, mainly across central and eastern Nebraska. Some storms could produce hail.

By Friday, colder air moving into the state could change rain to snow in parts of western and northwestern Nebraska.

The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for parts of western Nebraska, where 1 to 3 inches of snow are possible, along with a light glaze of ice in some areas. In the Panhandle, including Dawes and northern Sioux counties, snow totals could reach up to 4 inches.

Winds could gust up to 45 miles per hour, which may lead to blowing snow and reduced visibility. Forecasters say roads could become slick, especially during the Friday morning and evening commutes.
