NSAA Planning for full Football Season this Fall
LINCOLN - The Nebraska School Activities Association is intending to hold a complete football season this fall.
Executive Director Jay Bellar says that while a lot can change the NSAA is moving forward with plans to hold a full football season, but is also preparing to be flexible depending on the COVID-19 landscape over the coming months.
"We're sticking with we're going to have a regular season, and hopefully that works out for us. If it don't, we'll adjust," Bellar said. "If there comes a point in time when we can't play, we'll make that decision at that point in time."
Bellar added that while a complete season is the goal, all possibilities are being looked at.
"We have Nate Neuhaus, who's our football director, who's worked very hard at shortening a season. If we would do just district play, and then go to the playoffs. Maybe have a six-game season."
The NSAA currently has the football season scheduled to begin on Friday, August 27.
