Man killed in Sarpy County workplace accident

SARPY COUNTY - A man is dead after a workplace accident in Sarpy County on Monday.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a workplace accident at the Heimes Corporation, on 147^th Street around 11:51 a.m.

Authorities say at the time of the call, deputies had been advised that a truck driver had been hit by a truck and had severe injuries. 

On arrival, deputies were met by members of the Omaha Fire Department, who had also been called to the scene. 

The individual who had been hit was dead at the scene.

During the investigation, authorities say it appears that the deceased driver had been driving a dump truck full of concrete chunks. 

During the dumping process, the driver got out of his truck for an unknown reason. 

The truck rolled over the driver, killing him. 

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate the incident.
