McKeon enters diversion program in disturbing the peace case

Former state Sen. Dan McKeon’s disturbing the peace charge has been placed on a pretrial diversion plan.
McKeon was scheduled for a bench trial Thursday in Lancaster County Court.
According to court records, he has been accepted into a diversion program as an alternative to prosecution.
McKeon must complete all program requirements and remain in full compliance. If he does, the case will be closed.
The case has been continued until Aug. 28 to allow time to complete those obligations.
If completed successfully, the diversion officer will close the case, and the charge is likely to be dismissed under Nebraska statute.
