Lincoln police say a nearly month-long crime spree has finally been brought to an end with the arrest of one man last Saturday.
In a news release, police say Scott Enevoldsen is currently in custody facing multiple counts of thievery, fleeing arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and more.
Police say the "prolific thief" was first identified after a 29-year-old woman reported unauthorized charges on her debit card on October 27th.
On November 4th, a 20-year-old man reported his jeep was stolen. Just a few minutes later, police received reports of license plates being stolen from vehicles.
The day after, police say officers responded to a collision at a Burger King and found Enevoldsen in the stolen Jeep. As police approached, he reportedly fled from the scene. Officers did not pursue due to hazardous conditions and safety concerns for other motorists.
After some more reports of stolen license plates and gas, on November 14th, police finally found Enevoldsen at a residence on Ballard avenue with the stolen Jeep parked out front.
Police say the sheer volume of charges required information to be coordinated between dozens of officers and investigators across multiple patrol teams.
