Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle
Officers in Omaha are investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

OMAHA, Neb. -- Officers in Omaha are investigating a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
Authorities said that around 2 a.m. Saturday morning, police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on 38th and Farnam.
Officials said a 2019 Mazda CX-5, driven by 30-year-old William Wright of Omaha, was westbound on Farnam. A pedestrian, 20-year-old Kaitlyn Vanessen of Omaha, was crossing from north to south at 38th Street.
Authorities said Wright struck Vanessen while she was walking across the street. Vanessen was transported to Nebraska Medicine by OFD Medics with CPR in progress. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officials said Wright was booked for motor vehicle homicide, and he had a BAC of 0.182.
The crash is under investigation.
