A key vote is expected Thursday on that controversial bill targeting transgender individuals.

The “Let Them Grow Act” would prohibit gender altering procedures, including surgeries, for anyone under the age of 19.

It would also allow civil-legal action against doctors involved in those procedures.

It will take 33 votes to keep the measure alive and while critics of the legislation are confident those 33 votes will not be there, no one is making any guarantees, as lawmakers on both sides stand firm.

If the bill survives it’s still not a done deal and would have to go through two more rounds of contentious debate and politicking.
