Cleanup crew on scene of Kearney train derailment

KEARNEY, Neb. — Crews are on scene cleaning up a train derailment in Kearney.

City officials say it happened at 10:45 Friday night along E 27th St. between Avenue N and Grand Ave. About nine grain cars on a Union Pacific train derailed. The cars are derailed near a grain elevator and construction rental business.

E 27th St. will be closed until cleanup is complete.
