The 2026 college football season starts 26 Saturdays from now!

And smaller schools around the country are finalizing their fall slates this month, including Nebraska NAIA squads like Doane.

The Tigers kick off their 11-game schedule at home at Crete's Al Papik Field on August 29th with a non conference contest against Texas College out of Tyler, Texas. Doane did not play a non-conference game in 2025 after facing Graceland in a home-and-home series in 2023 and 2024. The Steers won only one game in 2025 and in 2023 but went 7-3 in 2024. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Doane must face the GPAC's three recent perennial heavyweights, Morningside, Northwestern and Dordt, all on the road. Doane's games against the two teams from the conference that made the NAIA postseason last year come on September 12 (Morningside) and October 10 (Dordt).

Doane's home conference opener comes against Waldorf on September 26, with Homecoming scheduled for the following Saturday, October 3, against Mount Marty.

And the schedule closes with three straight games against in-state foes: at Concordia on October 31, and then home games against Midland (November 7) and Hastings (November 14). The home finale against the Broncos will be the 125th all-time meeting between the two schools.

The Tigers have won a total of five games in head coach Jonathan Johnson's first two seasons at the helm.
